Poetry and Arts
Robert Service, Edgar Allen Poe Emily Dickenson, Shel Silverstein Shakespeare,
and various other poets. I write poetry as well, although not on par with
the above mentioned, but I'm working on it! As far as art goes, I am fascinated
with the work of Dali and Escher, and I really like Nagel. I do sketches
of my own, mostly animals and fantasy material.
Psychology and Criminal Justice
My main focus is on abnormal psychology and serial crime profiling.
I am interested in the criminal and/or abnormal mind and how it works,
why it works the way it does, and how, if possible, it can be anticipated.
Opinions, debate, and philosophy
I have very strong opinions about the world around me, and I like to
discuss them with others who have equally strong opinions. I prefer debates
with opposing opinions, but I'll play Devil's advocate if necessary. Mostly
it's because I like to know what people think and why they think it, and
if they're sure. I've discovered that many people think the way they do
because it's what they've been told to think; they don't really know why
they believe or think in a certain way. I figure if I can shake people
up, then they'll learn their own true beliefs, and I might even learn something.
No subject is off limits here, for the obvious reason that no matter what
the subject, everyone has an opinion on it, and at the very least can learn
from the views of others, whether there is agreement or not. You don't
have to agree; you just have to tolerate. Otherwise you get stuck in a
little one-sided world knowing only half of what's available to you. |
